SigEp's Leadership Continuum
Developing the world's next leaders
EDGE
This is the first experience in a series of five life changing leadership opportunities provided by Sigma Phi Epsilon. EDGE is primarily designed to motivate new members to consider leadership positions within the fraternity as well as in other organizations. In the 24 hours spent at the event, participants grow to know members of their chapter better, meet and connect with members of neighboring SigEp chapters, and learn from volunteers who are happy to share in this great experience.
Carlson Leadership Academy
The second step in the continuum is required for our seven chapter officers, but not exclusive to those few. In February 2009 we had 19 representatives from our chapter attend CLA in Chicago! CLA is an overnight regional prograrm that aims to develop each individual's performance at their position to advance the chaper as a whole. Uniting with other chapters across our region, chapters share best practices and ask for help with weaknesses. Throughout the weekend there are reflection periods to discuss the various ideas everyone has gathered.
Grand Chapter Conclave
Conclave is the most exciting and biggest SigEp event that occurs every two years. All 260 chapters of Sigma Phi Epsilon send a delegate and their president to the conference which is in Orlando, Florida this summer. Any national business is voted on by the delegate at this time. Events are scheduled throughout the three day program including a national philanthropy 5k, golf tournament, and national awards dinner!
Ruck Leadership Institute
If selected from an application process as a Ruck Scholar, a member attends an intense five day program that is said to be extremely beneficial from a leadership perspective. This year Ruck is in Williamsburg, Virgina and our own Graham Whye '11 will be in attendence! Congratulations Graham!
Tragos Quest to Greece
The Tragos Quest to Greece is the final and most coveted program in the leadership continuum. Less than twenty undergraduates are selected each year for the trip of an all expenses trip of a lifetime. The trip includes visiting many ancient Greek tourist attractions and exploring the land. A SigEp chosen to experience this journey is encouraged to discover the foundation of the fraternity and also himself through the teaching of ancient Greek philosophy. T.J. Augustine '11 was selected at Carlson in February to represent our chapter in Greece! Congratulations T.J.!
